Set along the historic and charming Boulevard St-Martin, this long narrow residence is bathed in natural light. Designed for a gallery director who splits their time between Paris, New York and northern Austria, the home was designed as a space for them to call home whenever they’re in France.

Just past the entry, a compact kitchen welcomes visitors with tiled flooring, built-in storage and a breakfast bar. Beyond it lies the living room, the primary gathering space of the home. The client requested ample seating for guests and a layout that would allow for flexibility. We chose to address the seating concerns by including a built-in sofa, and a custom bench running along the north and south walls, complemented by a dining table and numerous chairs that can easily be maneuvered depending on guest needs. A hand-tufted, custom-made rug anchors the entire furniture grouping.

To the east, the primary bedroom offers a quiet retreat from the energy of Parisian life outside. A second, more modest guest bedroom completes the sleeping areas, while greenery placed throughout the home takes advantage of the abundant natural light.
